The Stunning Views from the Levadas in Madeira
Returning after 17 years, I was pleased to find that Madeira still retains its original colonial charm and the scenic views that have made it a premier short break destination. Especially when staying in the Charming Hotels Madeira group of 4 and 5 star hotels.
The island is an extinct volcano rising out of the Atlantic covered in lush tropical gardens at the lower levels giving way to forests and moorland on the peaks. The white houses with traditional Portuguese red tiled roofs spread up the steep hillsides. Located in the Atlantic 600 km off Casablanca , Morocco it is a popular all year round destination with pleasant average temperatures of 23C in summer and 17C in winter.
